Job Highlights

  1. Minimum 8-10 years experience in automotive OEM, Tier I auto components manufacturing companies
  2. Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean manufacturing, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing),Measurement System Analysis, SPC and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  3. Additional preference to certified VDA 3 & IATF 16949 lead auditor

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Result oriented Quality professional to ensure Product, Process and Quality Management System implementation, continual improvement at Supplier Partners to meet the design intent and improvement in supplier capability.
  2. Responsible for delivering all aspects of the Supplier Quality Assurance function. Work in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste. 
  3. Work for continuous improvements in meeting all product requirements whilst ensuring proper root cause analysis and effective implementation of corrective actions. 
  4. Manage design/process specific requirements, offer technical support to suppliers to reduce rejection & cost of Quality.

Desired Candidate Profile

Carry out supplier Initial assessment audit in case of new suppliers to ensure manufacturing/ Technology capability to meet product and process requirement.

  1. Supplier Quality Improvement audits for existing suppliers to ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System & process controls.
  2. Support suppliers for advanced product quality planning (APQP).
  3. Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues.
  4. Perform on-site supplier visits for process and product audits, root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues
  5. Collate and evaluate supplier quality data, manufacturing process to identify process improvement and value enhancement opportunities within the supply chain.
  6. Promote the use of preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean manufacturing, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, SPC and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  7. Conduct new part PPAP verification run at supplier to ensure process establishment, controls, tooling, and gauges. PPAP documents review as per AIAG guidelines & PSW sign off.
  8. Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues within assigned projects and suppliers.
  9. Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
  10. Conduct supplier training on various core tools to improve quality awareness & up-gradation.
  11. Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, processor system
  12. Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting requirements.
  13. Manage and coordinate supplier Parts per Million (PPM), perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
  14. Undertake special projects as required.
  15. Contribute to continuous improvement activities
  16. Support and lead process improvement activities at the supplier
  17. Produce written reports and make presentations.
  18. Undertake personal continuous training and development.

Skills & Attributes:

  1. Knowledge of Quality Management System.
  2. Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  3. Knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3.
  4. Knowledge of measurement techniques, metrology and equipments.
  5. Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings
  6. Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as Casting, Forging, machining & Heat Treatment.
  7. Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Preferred Degree in Mechanical, Automobile and Production.
  2. Min. 8-10 years experience in automotive OEM, Tier I auto components manufacturing companies.
  3. Experience of working in Quality Assurance Department, preferably in Supplier Quality & New Product Development.
  4. Additional preference to certified VDA 6.3 & IATF 16949 lead auditor.
